Dr. Montoya K. Taylor is a board-certified cardiologist and strategic leadership consultant specializing in heart health for faculty and administrators in higher education. With extensive experience in adademic medicine, healthcare leadership, and medical education for rural and underserved communities, Dr. Taylor provides expert knowledge and guidance to universities, medical schools, and research institutions on optimizing faculty performance, enhancing leadership pipelines, and fostering a culture of innovation.


Dr. Taylor has focused his practice on helping to revitalizing cornonary intervention treatments and establish collaborations with several academic institutions and exceptional hospital systems to provide advanced healthcare. Dr. Taylor also has an extensive background in providing support to patients suffering to overcome cardiopulmonary failure with several patients surviving to become cardiac transplant patients. With his enhance knowledge-base solutions, Dr. Taylor strives to educate professionals in institutions of higher learning on the importance of work-life integration from a health management perspective.


Dr. Taylor’s work has enhanced efforts to provide cutting edge treatment to patients with cardiovascular disease, particularly, those with coronary artery disease, valvular issues, and/or peripheral artery disease. In addition, Dr. Taylor has worked with teams of specialists to launch speciality programs including a catheter-based treatment of pulmonary embolism program in Mississippi.


Dr. Taylor earned his Bachelors of Science from Tougaloo College in Jackson, Mississippi; his medical degree from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island; and his Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Taylor currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and practicing cardiologist at the Order of St. Francis Health System-St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford, Illinois.
